Sunday, October 6, 2024, 27th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Yr B)

Hello!

Our choir sings this Sunday, October 6, 2024, the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

We will have practice Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM and end at 8:30 PM.  We will be at the church this Wednesday evening to run through the music for this Sunday and continue learning a new hymn, "Take Up Our Cross", GP 383.  You can listen to this on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6Z_ntZEQd4.  If you don't have a hymn book to refer to, you can look at a PDF - link.

If you can't make it to this Wednesday's practice - please come on Sunday.  We will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning to get organized for the practice and then begin rehearsal at 10:00 a.m., and end no later than 10:30 a.m.   Whether you are able to make the practice Wednesday evening or not, you are still most welcome to attend on Sunday morning.

The Rosary will begin after the practice ends at 10:30 a.m..  When it's finished, there will be a period of silence, or instrumental music, before Mass begins.

The readings for this Sunday are:

2nd Reading: Hebrews 2.9-11
Gospel: Mark 10.2-16 or 10.2-12

(Note:  The links are to a website called the Bible Gateway.  You may get a warning page entitled Redirect Notice indicating that the link will take to the Bible Gateway, i.e. https://www.biblegateway.com)  I use this resource extensively so that is why I've used it in the links (if you wish to use them) for the specific readings.  Unfortunately, I am unable to find a complete resource that lists the Sunday readings for Canada.  The "closest" form I've found is this one from the CCCB - https://www.cccb.ca/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/2023-2024.pdf )
