January 6th, 2019, The Epiphany of Our Lord

Hello:

The Family Choir will be singing this coming Sunday, January 6th, which is also the Feast of the Epiphany or also called The Epiphany of the Lord.  We will meet at the usual time at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 6th, to get organized for the practice and then begin rehearsal at 10:00 a.m.  The Mass time for this Sunday is the usual 11:00 a.m.

The songs selected for the Feast of the Epiphany are listed below.

CBW - Catholic Book of Worship III
GP - Glory and Praise III

Entrance:  GP 255 We Three Kings

Kyrie:  GP  92 Kyrie, Eleison
Gloria: Bill's Gloria

Psalm:  Psalm - link here, harmony for the refrain - link here.

Response:  Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.  Alleluia!

Gospel Acclamation:  Celtic Alleluia

We observed his star,
at its rising,
and have come to pay homage to the Lord.

Preparation of the Gifts:  CBW 342 Arise, Shine Forth, Your Light Has Come

Holy Holy:  GP 96

Memorial Acclamation A - GP 97 We Proclaim Your Death

Amen:  GP 100 (New, but simple!)
Lamb of God:  Bill's

Communion:  GP 257 Child Of The Poor (Song 1) & What Child Is This (Song 2)

Note:  Child of the Poor is a counter melody to What Child Is This.  In the notes for the song in my music it indicates that Vs. 1 of Song 1 is done first, followed by Vs. 1 of Song 2, then Vs 2 of Song 1, then Vs. 2 of Song 2, then the choir splits with half doing Vs. 3 of Song 1 while the other half does Vs. 3 of Song 2.

This version of the two hymns on YouTube is almost the same as the music in the hymnal - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEkdr62eVMY.  Please listen to it a few times before next Sunday if possible.

Recessional:  CBW 344 The First Nowell
