Sunday, September 29th, 2024, 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Yr B)

Hello.

Our choir sings this Sunday, September 29th, 2024, the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

If possible, we would like to change up the practice to Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM and end at 8:30 PM.  Changing our practice time to a week night would allow us to learn new music, and allow us to start practices at 10:00 on Sunday mornings (arrive at 9:45 and start practice at 10:00).  We will be at the church this Wednesday evening to run through the music for this Sunday and learn a new hymn, "Take Up Our Cross", GP 383.  You can listen to this on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6Z_ntZEQd4.  If you don't have a hymn book to refer to, you can look at a PDF - link.

If you can't make it to this Wednesday's practice - either due to the short notice or Wednesday evenings are busy for you - please come on Sunday.  We will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning to get organized for the practice and then begin rehearsal at 10:00 a.m., and end no later than 10:30 a.m.  If Wednesdays are out, please let me know what is possible for you on weekday evenings (or whether it's not possible).  Whether you are able to make the practice or not, you are still most welcome to attend on Sunday morning.  We will try to arrange a time that most choir members can attend but it's likely that it may not work for everyone.

The Rosary will begin after the practice ends at 10:30 a.m..  When it's finished, there will be a period of silence, or instrumental music, before Mass begins.

The readings for this Sunday are:

1st Reading: Numbers 11.25-29
2nd Reading: James 5.1-6

(Note:  The links are to a website called the Bible Gateway.  You may get a warning page entitled Redirect Notice indicating that the link will take to the Bible Gateway, i.e. https://www.biblegateway.com)  I use this resource extensively so that is why I've used it in the links (if you wish to use them) for the specific readings.  Unfortunately, I am unable to find a complete resource that lists the Sunday readings for Canada.  The "closest" form I've found is this one from the CCCB - https://www.cccb.ca/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/2023-2024.pdf )
