Hello.
Our choir sings this Sunday, December 15, 2024, the 3rd Sunday in Advent, also known as Gaudete (Latin word meaning "rejoice") Sunday. The candle that will be lit this coming Sunday will be the rose (we're not supposed to call it pink) candle. The new rose candle that's lit this Sunday, and in the priest's rose vestments (usually), are meant to express joy.
We will have practice in the church this Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM and end at 8:30 PM. We will run through the music for this Sunday and perhaps look at what's upcoming for Christmas Eve. We will probably run through the new hymn we're learning, "Take Up Our Cross", GP 383 once as well. You can listen to this on YouTube. If you don't have a hymn book to refer to, you can refer to this PDF - link.
If you can't make it to this Wednesday's practice - please come on Sunday. We will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning to get organized for the practice and then begin rehearsal at 10:00 a.m., and end no later than 10:30 a.m. Whether you are able to make the practice Wednesday evening or not, you are still most welcome to attend on Sunday morning.
The Rosary will begin after the practice ends at 10:30 a.m.. When it's finished, there will be a period of silence, or instrumental music, before Mass begins.
